One alien that has appeared as a symbol for the Irken race is a green monkey. It is first seen on a floating monitor screen above the city on Conventia. It later becomes a major image in Zim's house, seen above the living room couch. Zim also has it on a monitor screen in his lab (Germs) and on a pedestal in a hallway (Walk For Your Lives). When we see Jhonen Vasquez choke on a fish in The Wettening, there is another picture of the monkey on his wall, except it is facing backwards.
